CORBIN — Corbin scored first during its first match of the season, but couldn’t hold on as Lincoln County edged the Redhounds on Thursday, 4-3.
“We played a very physical Lincoln County team in a tight, 4-3, loss,” Corbin coach Roger Taylor said. “Even though we scored first through Eli Skeen, we struggled to deal with their speed and tenacity in pressuring the ball. Lots of good takeaways and encouraging signs. OBI is next.”
Corbin’s Eli Skeen gave the Redhounds a 1-0 edge while Bentley Hoskins also scored in the first half as the two teams caught to a two-all tie at halftime.
Lincoln County added two goals in the second half while Davis Castro added a goal last in the game for Corbin.
