WILLIAMSBURG — Jerrica Shepherd continued her impressive play this season by recording a hat-trick while leading Whitley County to a 5-4 win over McCreary Central.
The game was tied at three apiece entering halftime before a goal by second half goals by Shepherd and Carly Rains gave the Lady Colonels some cushion.
“The girls came out strong with Jerrica Shepherd making the first goal of the game, she added 2 more to her stats,” Whitley County co-coach Becky Prewitt said. “Following her for the Colonels was for a goal each for sophomore Courtney Smith and freshman Carly Rains.
“Keira Cheek, Gabby Hunt and Jerrica Shepherd kept the ball distributed in the mid-field,” she added. “Gabby Hunt earned player of the game. She showed great resilience the entire game making game winning plays.”
