LONDON — Ballard handed North Laurel its second straight loss Monday, defeating the Lady Jaguars 5-1.
The loss dropped North Laurel to 26-4 overall and marked the first time this season the Lady Jaguars have lost back-to-back games.
The Lady Bruins jumped in front early with three runs in the first inning and never trailed the rest of the way. Ballard added two more runs in the sixth to create separation.
North Laurel answered with its lone run in the bottom of the first when Tessa Monhollen delivered an RBI single to score Emma Carl, who finished 2-for-3 with a pair of doubles.
The Lady Jaguars collected six hits in the loss. Bella Finley, Katie Sams, Reeseyln Garland and Monhollen each added hits.
Monhollen went the distance in the circle for North Laurel, allowing five runs, four earned, on six hits while striking out two over seven innings.
