LONDON — Carly Mink’s South Laurel Lady Cardinals are hitting on all cylinders.
They began the last week of regular season play against Clay County with an impressive 16-0 victory, improving to 29-5 during the process.
During their current eight-game win streak the Lady Cardinals have outscored their opponents, 82-2 while recording six shutouts during the process.
“Offensively, we were very patient and had a lot of quality at bats,” Mink said. “Morgan and Ryleigh provided two big swings tonight. Kenzie gave us a great performance in the circle tonight, eight strikeouts and no hits.”
South Laurel took control of the game early, pushing across for runs in the first inning before securing the win with a 12-run second inning.
Kenzie Williams tossed a perfect game, and struck out eight of the nine batters she faced.
Ryleigh Bretz continues her red-hot play at the play, going 3-for-3 which included a home run and two doubles. She also drove in five runs while scoring three times. Morgan Jackson went 2-for-3 with a home run, three RBI, and two runs scored while Bailey Frazier had a hit, two RBI and three runs scored. Williams had a hit and an RBI while Aubrey Messer finished with two hits, an RBI, and two runs scored while Skye Lawson had two hits, one RBI, two runs scored.
