LONDON — Darren McWhorter’s North Laurel Jaguars got back to their winning ways by picking up a pair of wins over Southwestern (5-1), and Pulaski County (7-5) during Saturday’s Martin’s Peterbilt Jon Hooker Memorial Classic.
Game One
North Laurel 5, Southwestern 1
The Jaguars’ Eli Holt tossed a five-hitter, allowing only one run while striking out two players to help guide his team to a 5-1 win over Southwestern.
Ashton Napier came through at the plate with two home runs and three RBI while Cam Smith connected with a solo home run.
Game Two
North Laurel 7, Pulaski County 5
The Jaguars fought back from a 2-0 deficit and used a five-run second inning and a two-run third inning to defeat Pulaski County, 7-5.
Cooper Elza had two hits, an RBI, and one run scored while Bradyn Evans had two hits and scored twice. Jude McWhorter delivered a hit, three RBI, and scored once. Colton Gilbert and Cam Smith both had a hit and an RBI apiece.
Zac Johnston got the win, tossing five innings while allowing no earned runs, and striking out two. Colter Elza secured the save.
