Four errors, 13 walks lead to Lynn Camp’s loss to Williamsburg

CORBIN — Williamsburg took advantage of four errors and 13 walks, slipping past Lynn Camp on Thursday with a 15-13 win.

The game was tight throughout with the Lady Wildcats taking a 5-4 lead in the bottom of the first inning before seeing the Lady Yellow Jackets push across seven runs in the third inning to take an 11-10 advantage. 

Williamsburg scored three runs in the fourth inning and added another run in the sixth inning, increasing its lead to 15-10.

Lynn Camp attempted to rally in the bottom of the seventh inning but couldn’t hold manage only three runs.

The Lady Wildcats’ four errors led to their downfall. They led to nine unearned runs. 

Eight Lady Yellow Jacket players drove in runs with Megan Prewitt leading the way. She went 3-for-3 with an RBI, and two runs scored while Brooklyn Taylor finished with a hit and two RBI. Marissa Tolbert also drove in two runs along with Kenzie Rice while Brenna Hicks, Ally Bellew, and Maddie Goodin drove in runs. 

Lynn Camp outhit Williamsburg, 20-6, as Bella Gambell led the way with four hits, three runs scored and an RBI while Lily Henzie and Lauren Partin finished with three hits apiece. Four Lady Wildcats had four hits and two RBI apiece.
