LONDON — North Laurel spotted Jackson County a 1-0 lead in the third inning but rallied and won the game as Cam Hinkle’s hit down the third base line scored that scored Colter Elza, giving the Jaguars a key 2-1 49th District win.
North Laurel (8-7) also received another stellar pitching effort from Colton Stewart. The freshman hurler tossed another complete game, allowing three hits and one earned run while striking out eight batters.
Cooper Elza led the way with three hits while Colter Elza finished with two hits.
“Colton Stewart threw a great game again,” North Laurel coach Darren McWhorter said. “At the plate Cooper Elza led the way with three hits and Colter Elza had two hits, and then Cam Hinkle had the game-winning hit and RBI to end the game. Overall, it was a good game by both teams.”
