Castle, Pilarski power Knox Central past Lynn Camp in offensive showdown

CORBIN — Blakely Castle and Gabby Pilarski delivered big games at the plate as Knox Central outslugged Lynn Camp, 21-10, in a high-scoring 51st District matchup Friday.

Castle led the way with four RBI and three hits while Pilarski added five RBI, helping fuel a 21-run output for the Lady Panthers (2-7). Sydney Grubb and Bailey Hubbard each scored four runs in the win. 

Despite the final score, Lynn Camp came out swinging, too.

The Lady Wildcats (4-9) scored three runs in the first inning and added two more in the second to take an early 5-3 lead. 

Lily Henize led Lynn Camp with a 5-for-5 effort and three runs scored while Julie Moore added four hits and Lauren Partin chipped in three more hits.

Knox Central answered in the middle innings to take control of the game. 

The Lady Panthers pushed across three runs in the fourth and another three in the fifth to regain control before breaking the game open with four runs in the sixth and eight more in the seventh inning.

Hubbard finished with three hits and four runs scored while Kendall Williamson added three hits and reached base five times. Shelbi Smith also drove in three runs as Knox Central piled up 16 hits.
