HARLAN — Trey Person, Malachi Zachery and Levi Brock set the tone early and never let up, combining for eight hits and nine RBI to lead Corbin to a dominant 17-2 victory over Harlan County on Thursday.
Corbin scored 11 runs in the first inning and cruised to the 15-run victory.
“We did a good job setting the tone in the first, hit a few balls hard and took advantage of some mistakes,” Corbin coach Cody Philpot said. “Then we were able to keep it going and finish it off.”
Hunter Todd got the win on the mound, allowing only two hits while striking out three batters.
Zachery had three hits and three RBI while Person added two hits, three runs scored, and four RBI. Brock also came through with a strong night at the plate with two hits, two RBI, and one run scored.
