LONDON — After three scoreless innings, North Laurel broke through with a three-run fourth inning before picking up a 5-3 victory over Rockcastle County.
Zac Johnston pitched five innings while grabbing the win. He allowed four hits, three earned runs and struck out six batters while Jude McWhorter got the win, tossing two scoreless and hitless innings. He struck out three batters.
“Great win versus a very good Rockcastle County team tonight,” North Laurel coach Darren McWhorter said. “Cooper Elza had three hits while Eli Holt had two hits and both players finished with an RBI.
“Defensively, we played great with no errors,” he added. “ Zack Johnston pitched five innings with six Ks and got the win and Jude McWhorter pitched two innings with three Ks to get the save. Overall, a great game.”
