HARLAN — Behind a dominant outing in the circle from Sophia Martinez and a big day at the plate from Baylee Berry, Jackson County rolled past Harlan 11-0 in the opening round of the 13th Region All “A” Classic on Thursday.
Martinez controlled the game from start to finish, firing a two-hit shutout with eight strikeouts, while Berry paced the offense with two hits and three RBIs to spark the Lady Generals.
Jackson County broke things open with a six-run second inning and never looked back, adding five more in the fifth to seal the run-rule victory.
Ella Sallee added two hits and two RBIs, while Kylee Martin (two RBI) and Kylie Moore (one RBI) each drove in runs as the Lady Generals piled up 10 hits.
