MANCHESTER — South Laurel pitcher Kenzie Williams dominated once again, tossing a one-hit, complete game shutout to lead the Lady Cardinals past Clay County, 5-0.
South Laurel (10-3) collected 11 hits in the win as Bailey Frazier connected with a home run while driving in a run and scoring twice. Williams, who also struck out 14 batters, had two hits while Audrey Messer finished with two hits, and two RBI. Lexi Messer collected two hits, and an RBI while Morgan Jackson also delivered a run-scoring hit.
“Great Region win tonight against a really good Clay County team,” South Laurel coach Carly Mink said. “Great performance by Kenzie in the circle tonight, allowing only one hit. We were very productive offensively tonight, and was able to score in four of seven innings and put a lot of pressure on them defensively.”
