Adams shines in circle as Harlan County tops Clay County

MANCHESTER — Alexis Adams delivered when it mattered most Monday night.

Adams tossed a complete-game effort in the circle while helping lead Harlan County to a 3-1 win over Clay County.

The Lady Black Bears (7-3) broke through in the fourth inning, scoring all three of their runs in what proved to be the decisive frame.

Raegan Landa came through with a key hit and scored a run while Kendall Brock, Jaylin Robinson, and Carmen Thomas each drove in a run in the win.

Harlan County managed just one hit on the night but showed patience at the plate, drawing eight walks to keep pressure on Clay County throughout the game.

On the mound, Adams was steady, allowing just one run on seven hits while striking out three and walking three over seven innings to earn the win.
