Whitley County’s Luke Hillard continues to swing a hit bat, delivering a home run while going 3-for-3 with two RBI, and one run scored during the Colonels’ 13-1 win over Middle Tennessee Christian on Friday.
But Hillard wasn’t the only Colonel turning in a stellar effort at the plate.
Ethan Allen finished 3-for-3 with three RBI, three stolen bases, and two runs scored while Kip Allen, Ty Petrey, Dee Parker, and Caden Mountjoy each collected two hits apiece. Henry Bowling, Petrey, Parker, and Mountjoy also drove in a run apiece as well.
The state’s No. 3 ranked team scored a run in the first inning before adding four runs in each of the next three innings to put the game away.
Ethan Allen also pitched a complete game, allowing no earned runs while allowing only two hits, and striking out seven batters.
