Lady Colonels split a pair of games, move record to 3-5 

David Halcomb’s Whitley County Lady Colonels split a pair of games in Thursday, losing to Station Camp, 6-0, before rallying to defeat Pike Central, 9-8.

Whitley County’s record now stands at 3-5. 

Game One

Station Camp 6, Whitley County 0

The Lady Colonels fell behind 4-0 in the first inning, and never recovered, losing to Station Camp, 6-0.

Whitley County turned in a flawless game defensively, but managed only three hits at the plate.

Payton Hurst with 2-for-3 while Jazlynn Brown had the Lady Colonels’ other line hit.

Megan McKiddy tossed five innings, allowing seven hits, and two earned runs while striking out three batters. Hallie Huddleston pitched an inning, allowing five hits, and four earned runs. She struck out a batter. 

Game Two

Whitley County 9, Pike Central 8

The Lady Colonels rallied from a 5-4 deficit to pull off a 9-8 win over Pike Central.

Whitley County tied the game at five apiece in the top of the sixth before adding four runs in the top of the seventh.

The Lady Colonels had to hold on, though.

Pike Central rallied for three runs in the bottom of the seventh, but couldn’t push any more runs across. 

Madilyn Rains went 5-for-5 at the plate along with three RBI, and a run scored. Huddleston had two hits, two RBI, and two runs scored while Megan McKiddy delivered two hits and two RBI. Jazlynn Brown finished with three hits while Isabella Trent had two hits, and scored three times.
