Jaguars split a pair of games in Myrtle Beach

MYRTLE BEACH, SC — Darren McWhorter’s North Laurel Jaguars split a pair of games in Tuesday, defeating Waupun, 6-5, while falling to Penfield, 6-2.

Game one

Penfield 6, North Laurel 2

The Jaguars (3-4) took a 2-1 edge into the bottom of the fifth inning, as Penfield scored four runs en route to a 6-2 win.

Can Smith delivered a hit and an RBI while Bradyn Evans had two hits and an RBI.

Eli Holt took the loss, tossing five innings while allowing three earned runs. He also struck out a batter. Ashton Napier pitched two innings, surrendering five hits and three earned runs while striking out a batter.

Game Two

North Laurel 6, Waupun 5

The Jaguars broke open a three-all tie with a three runs sixth inning to pull off a 6-5 win over Waupun.

Colton Stewart went 3-for-3 at the plate while Cam Smith delivered a three-run home run. Cooper Elza had a hit, two RBI, and two runs scored.

Zac Johnston tossed four innings, allowing three hits, three runs and striking out three batters. Can Hinkle got the win, pitching three innings while allowing two hits, and two earned runs. He struck out one batter.
