Gaviria-Zuleta, Strunk lead South Laurel effort in 7-5 loss

WESTERVILLE, Ohio — Wilkelver Gaviria-Zuleta and Quinn Strunk turned in strong offensive performances Tuesday, but South Laurel came up short in a 7-5 loss to Westerville Central.

Gaviria-Zuleta led the Cardinals at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three RBI while Strunk finished 3-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored. Jamison West added a triple, scored twice, and reached base three times as part of South Laurel’s 10-hit effort while Reece Noble had two hits and an RBI.

Noble took the loss on the mound, working six innings while allowing seven runs (three earned) on seven hits with two strikeouts.
