Whitley County held a 4-2 lead entering the fifth inning but could hold on, falling to Hilliard Darby on Tuesday, 8-4.
Madison Lunsford led the way with a 2-for-2 effort while Mia Prewitt delivered a hit, and an RBI in the loss. Isabella Trent, and Payton Hurst also drove in runs.
Seventh grader Megan McKiddy turned in another stellar effort in the pitcher’s circle, pitching a complete game while allowing five earned runs. She also struck out seven batters.
