Redhounds bounce back with road win over Madison Central

RICHMOND — Two-hit efforts from Trey Person, Cam Estep, and Landon Walters paved the way for Corbin to salvage its first loss of the season on Monday by defeating Madison Central, 4-3.

Walters, Estep and Dallas Merida each drove in a run as the Redhounds improved to 3-1.

Malachi Zachery turned in a solid effort on the mound, tossing 6.1 innings allowing only three hits and one earned run while striking out three batters. Estep came in relief and got the win.

“Great team win for us,” Corbin coach Cody Philpot said. “Malachi set the tone on the mound and then Cam and Bret did a great job at the end to secure the win. Several guys came through for us in clutch times at the plate.”
