Wildcats avenge early season loss to Casey County

CORBIN — The Lynn Camp Wildcats finished regular season play in style, handing Casey County a 59-58 loss in overtime.

The Wildcats move to 8-21 heading into 51st District Tournament play next week.

“Great, gritty overtime win for our kids,” Lynn Camp coach Marcus McKeehan said. “So proud of our kids tonight. They’ve bought in all season and kept grinding. Tonight we got the stops when we needed it and our kids played their guts out. It was a great team win, we had three starters foul out and went deep on the bench and they stayed the course and the energy never dropped.

“Can’t say enough about our two seniors Caleb Woods and DJ Wren,” he added. “They are the ultimate warriors and team leaders and our kids were happy to send them out with a win for their last home game. With the win we also accomplished one of our goals to surpass our win total from last year from seven wins to eight wins with that one tonight. We also avenged an earlier season loss to Casey County. I can go down the line and brag on every one of our kids, it was a complete team effort.”

Caleb Woods led Lynn Camp with 18 points while Landen Rose finished with 16 points.
