Davidson and Lamb Earn KABC Regional Honors as Burnett Brings Home Wah Wah Jones Award

LEXINGTON — The Kentucky Association of Basketball Coaches (KABC) has released its Region Players of the Year, honoring the top senior performers across the Commonwealth for the 2025-26 season — a list filled with elite scorers, dominant rebounders, and program-defining leaders.

The 13th Region was front and center as Bell County senior Kairi Lamb and North Laurel senior Reece Davidson claimed the girls’ and boys’ Region Player of the Year honors.

Davidson earned 13th Region Player of the Year honors after a stellar senior campaign in which he averaged 20 points and 9 rebounds per contest for North Laurel. Davidson’s versatility, strength, and consistency have been instrumental in the Jaguars’ success, as he has proven capable of taking over games offensively while still impacting the game on the boards and defensively.

On the girls’ side, Lamb has been nothing short of dominant for Bell County, averaging 19 points and 14 rebounds per game. Her physical presence on the glass, ability to score in traffic, and relentless motor have made her one of the most impactful players in the state, regardless of class. Night after night, Lamb has anchored Bell County on both ends of the floor, establishing herself as one of Kentucky’s premier frontcourt players.

Adding to an already special season for Bell County, senior Blake Burnett was named the recipient of the Wallace “Wah Wah” Jones Award, a prestigious annual honor presented to a Kentucky male high school senior multi-sport athlete who best exemplifies the true student-athlete ideal through excellence in athletics, academics, and character.

All KABC Region Players of the Year are now eligible for Mr. and Miss Basketball, which will be announced during a ceremony scheduled for March 22 in Lexington. Only seniors are eligible for the prestigious statewide awards.
