LONDON — North Laurel bounced back in a big way, snapping a three-game losing skid on Thursday with an 83-55 win over Whitley County.
Both Reece Davidson and Jordan Rawlings turned in stellar efforts on senior night.
Davidson finished with 27 points while Rawlings hit four 3-pointers and finished with 20 points.
Corey Cunagin added 15 points in the win as North Laurel improved to 23-7.
“I’m proud of our guys for bouncing back tonight and getting a win on senior night,” North Laurel coach Nate Valentine said. “Jordan and Reece have meant the world to this program and Im grateful for everything they have done for North Laurel. This was a good way to wrap up the season as we head into the district tournament.”
The loss dropped the Colonels to 18-10. Eric Swords’ squad finishes regular season play losing five out of their last six games.
Riley Fuson, Tootie Mahan, and Henry Bowling each scored 13 points apiece in the loss.
Another good game for us on the road heading into district tournament,” Swords said. “I thought our guys played well in the first half, but again their size and athleticism really hurt us and wore us down in the 2nd half. But I liked the fight our guys showed. “You never want to lose but this game will help us going forward,” he added. “We will regroup and start preparing for Tuesday versus Williamsburg in the District Tournament.”
