BARBOURVILLE — South Laurel got back in the win column with a hardfought 62-55 win over Knox Central on Friday.
The Cardinals (14-11) led throughout, and held off a Panther squad that wouldn’t quit.
Kaiden McQueen led South Laurel with 12 points while Brendan Murphy added 11 points. Blaine Baker and Kaden Taylor added nine points apiece while Isaiah Robinson and Brayden Cassidy scored eight points apiece.
“Had guys in foul trouble and had some guys step up for us,” South Laurel coach Jeff Davis said. “Guys are fighting through this rough stretch and it was good for us to bounce back. Showed the toughness we need and not laying any eggs tonight. Coach Patterson has done a fabulous job with his group, they battle and play hard all the time.”
Evan Hubbard led Knox Central (14-7) with 30 points while Hayden Melton added nine points.
