LONDON — Bell County High School’s freshmen squad captures the 13th Region title on Saturday by recording a 48-37 win over Corbin while Caden Winkler knocked down a last-second shot in the finals to beat North Laurel, 43-41.
“We won on a put back at the buzzer by Caden Winkler. I am really proud of our team,” Bell County coach Nick Napier said. “Coach Brad Sizemore and the rest of the staff has done a great job bringing our young players along. These guys are a very good group. Hats off the North Laurel. They played really hard and it came down to the final play. Thank you to North Laurel for hosting the region. They made it a first class event.”
