Redhounds cruise past Williamsburg with 93-26 win

WILLIAMSBURG — Tony Pietrowski’s Corbin Redhounds inched closer to the .500 mark after overwhelming Williamsburg in a 50th District matchup on Tuesday.

The Redhounds scored early and often, improving to 10-11 overall, and 3-2 in 50th District play thanks to a 93-26 win over the Yellow Jackets, who are now 1-24, and 0-6 against district opponents.

“We did what we needed to do,” Corbin coach Tony Pietrowski said. “Stayed true to ourselves on both sides of the ball. Always good to pick up a district win. Hats off to Williamsburg, those kids play with great effort.”

Corbin led 29-8 after the first quarter, and 54-15 at halftime before cruising to the win in the second half.

Keaton Smith hit five 3-pointers, and scored 17 points for Corbin while Trey Person finished with 15 points, and Evan Ellis added 14 points.

Eli Pietrowski, who recorded his 1,500th career point Monday against Belfry, collected his 1,000th career rebound against Williamsburg.

Layne Jeffries led Williamsburg with nine points while Trenton Corbett scored seven points.
