Lady Redhounds take care of business against Williamsburg

CORBIN — Corbin wasted little time putting Friday’s 50th District matchup out of reach against Williamsburg.

The Lady Redhounds outscored the Lady Yellow Jackets, 25-4, in the first quarter, en route to an easy, 63-25 win.

“Proud of our team tonight,” Corbin coach Isaac Wilson said. “It feels good to get back in the win column, and hopefully we can start building off of tonight‘s success into our future games.

“It’s important that we continue to improve as we are at the midway point of our season,” he added. “We view each game and each day as an opportunity to get better and I feel that this is a team that wants to get better.”

The 38-point victory allowed Corbin to even its 50th District record at 1-1 while improving to 8-6 during the process. The loss dropped Williamsburg to 3-7 overall and 0-2 against district opponents.

Eleven players scored for the Lady Redhounds in the win with Addy Wilson’s 10 points leading the way. Aubree Clemens and Brylee Frederick followed with nine points apiece.

“It’s always nice when you can get everybody in and we can enjoy this one for tonight,” Wilson said. “I look forward to getting better over our next two practices as we prepare for our next district matchup against Whitley County.”

Abby Moses led the Lady Yellow Jackets with seven points while Braylea Evans chipped in six points.
