CORBIN — Corbin rolled to its second 50th District win on Friday, improving to 2-0, while handing Williamsburg a 92-18 loss.
The Redhounds (7-7) placed five players in double figures in the win. The loss dropped Brandon Bargo’s Yellow Jackets to 1-16 overall and 0-2 against 50th District opponents.
“Proud of our kids tonight,” Corbin coach Tony Pietrowski said. “We played with solid effort, and stayed true to ourselves when the score got lopsided.
“Good to get some other guys minutes,” he added. “We’ve played a lot of tough games leading into tonight which hasn’t allowed us to experiment with some depth. Good to see some of those guys log minutes tonight. We need to some good practices leading into Tuesdays game.”
Corbin put the game away in the first half, taking a 26-7 lead into the second quarter while holding a commanding, 52-12, lead at halftime. Williamsburg only made three field goals in the second half.
Evan Ellis led the Redhounds with 15 points while Lucas Brittain had 14 points. Eli Pietrowski added 13 points while Trey Person finished with 11 points, and Dalton Henderson had 10 points.
Holden Clark led the Yellow Jackets with eight points.
