PINEVILLE — Louisville Eastern used a strong second half to pull away from South Laurel and claim a 55–43 victory, advancing to the finals of the Redmond Auto Group Holiday Classic while the Cardinals (6-4) will face-off against Southwestern Tuesday in the Third Place game.
The game opened as a defensive battle, with both teams struggling to find an offensive rhythm in the first quarter.
The Eagles (11-1) held a slim edge early, taking a 13–5 lead after the first quarter.
South Laurel’s offensive struggles continued in the second quarter, trailed 27-15 at halftime.
The Eagles held a 42-30 edge entering the fourth quarter, and sealed the win in the final eight minutes.
Kaden Taylor led South Laurel with 16 points while Kaiden McQueen added 12 points.
