Clay County opened play in the Magic City Winter Classic with an impressive 59–25 victory over Jellico, Tenn., on Monday, evening its record at 5–5 on the season.
The Lady Tigers wasted little time taking control, jumping out to a 19–7 lead by the end of the first quarter. Clay County continued to pour it on in the second period, extending the advantage to 45–11 at halftime.
The dominance carried over into the second half, as the Lady Tigers pushed the margin to 57–17 entering the fourth quarter before closing out the lopsided win.
Carly Fultz led the way for Clay County with 21 points and six rebounds. She was joined in double figures by Maci White with 13 points, while Madison Pendlan added eight points in the victory.
