CORBIN — Corbin continued its strong start at the Cumberland Falls Invitational on Monday, rolling past Dawson Springs 84–45 to improve to 2–0 in tournament play.
The Redhounds also moved to 4–5 on the season, controlling the game from the opening tip. Corbin jumped out to a 24–14 lead after the first quarter and extended the advantage to 48–23 by halftime.
Corbin kept its foot on the gas in the second half, quickly putting the game out of reach.
“Kids played well today,” Corbin coach Tony Pietrowski said. “They stayed within themselves when the game got lopsided as well. Everyone that played did well this evening. Our football guys seem to be gaining some basketball legs back. We are excited to compete for the championship tomorrow evening.”
Evan Ellis led the Redhounds with 24 points, knocking down four three-pointers in the win. Eli Pietrowski followed with 18 points and connected on one three-pointer. Braxton Tolliver and Lucas Brittain added seven points apiece.
