Generals Bounce Back with Convincing Win Over Dawson Springs

CORBIN — Jackson County responded in a big way on Sunday, defeating Dawson Springs 79–53 to even its record at 1–1 in the Cumberlands Falls Invitational and improve to 7–4 overall.

After a loss to Corbin on Saturday, the Generals showed better execution and balance on both ends of the floor.

Jackson County had multiple players contribute offensively, led by Joona Holm and Wyatt Gray, who scored 14 points apiece. Brennon Combs added 12 points, while Tansen Truett finished with 10. Ashton Clemons chipped in nine points.

Also scoring for Jackson County were Braylon Combs and Tyler Sandlin with five points each, Braxton Coyle with four, and Eli Summers, Brayden Vickers, and Quentin McQueen with two points apiece.

Jackson County coach Parker Stewart was pleased with how his team responded following Saturday’s setback.

“I was glad to see our guys respond tonight after losing to Corbin last night,” he said. “We felt like we made some mistakes in that fourth quarter yesterday that cost of the game versus Corbin. It was good to see us sharpen some things up, and I thought tonight we moved the ball as well as we have all season. We have a young team and we’re continuing to learn each other and grow every game.”
