Colonels continue to roll, knock off Lexington Christian, 73-64

WILLIAMSBURG — Whitley County improved to 7-2 thanks to a 73-64 win over Lexington Christian on Sunday.

Tootie Mahan led the way with 20 points and two 3-pointers while Levi Jackson had 16 points, and Dee Parker chipped in 15 points.

The Colonels led 44-38 entering the fourth quarter before wrapping up the win by going 21-of-26 from the free throw-line in the fourth quarter. 

“Great win for our guys,” Whitley County coach Eric Swords said. “We really battled hard. Had good balance again and Dee Parker did a great job on their shooter who scored 48 the other night. 

“We did a great job of knocking down our free throws in the last four minutes of the game,” he added. “Back at it tomorrow agaijst Harrison County to finish up the Borderline Classic. Go Colonels.”
