Mountain Lions captured third consecutive win

Pineville continued its strong stretch of play Saturday, pulling away late for a 53–49 win over Clarkrange, Tennessee to improve to 4–4 overall and winners of three straight.

The Mountain Lions were paced by Anderson Henry, who led the way with 14 points, including eight in the fourth quarter as Pineville closed out the win. Noah Slone added 12 points, knocking down two 3-pointers and scoring eight of his points in the opening quarter. Kenton Brock scored 10 points, with six coming in the first quarter, while Jacob Grubbs chipped in nine points.

Pineville coach Brad Levy credited his team’s resilience and growth after the victory.

“I’m really proud of our kids for staying together and fighting our way back to win today,” he said. “We got down 12 early in the fourth quarter and our kids willed themselves back into the game.

“Our young and inexperienced guys are starting to figure things out each time we’ve touched the floor lately and are playing well together,” Levy added. “We’ve won three straight heading into Christmas and are looking forward to playing in the Chain Rock Classic at home December 29th-31st.”
