STEPP BACK AND WATCH: Logan Stepp Dominates Late In Tigers Win Over Jackson County 

MCKEE — Logan Stepp poured in a game-high 24 points, including nine in the fourth quarter, to lift Barbourville to a 47-41 win over Jackson County on Friday night.

The Tigers jumped out to a 15-4 first-quarter lead behind three made 3-pointers and seven early points from Stepp. Jackson County battled back to take a 19-17 halftime lead as Brennon Combs and Tansen Truett each scored four points in the second quarter.

Barbourville answered in the third quarter, regaining the lead at 32-31, before Stepp took control late. He scored nine points in the final period, while Trace Wood added four to help the Tigers pull away down the stretch.

Stepp led all scorers with 24 points, while Noah King added eight. Chase Wilder and Wood each scored six points, and Carter Deaton finished with three for Barbourville.

Brennon Combs led Jackson County with 10 points, while Tyler Sandlin added eight for the Generals, who fell to 5-2 on the season.
