Five in Double Figures Power Oneida Baptist to Season-Opening Win

MANCHESTER — Jared Gray earned his first win as Oneida Baptist’s boys’ basketball coach on Tuesday, guiding the Mountaineers to an impressive 84-62 victory over Prestonsburg during the Larry Gritton, Sr. Classic.

Five Mountaineers scored in double figures, showcasing a balanced offensive attack. Mike Cunningham led the way with 22 points, while Skyler Roberts knocked down three 3-pointers and finished with 16. Tommy Branstutter added 15 points, and both Aden Gregory and Ryder Salmons chipped in 10 apiece. Gregory connected on two 3-pointers as Oneida Baptist consistently found success from long range.

The Mountaineers set the tone early, hitting five of their seven 3-pointers in the first quarter while cruising to the win and giving Gray a memorable debut at the helm.
