MIDDLESBORO — Larry French’s Middlesboro Yellow Jackets capped off a perfect 9-0 regular season with an impressive 34-27 win over Sayre.
Sayre entered the matchup with only one loss, but they left with their second loss as Middlesboro’s offensive attack led by quarterback Deakon Partin scored at least 30 points for the eighth time this season. The Yellow Jackets defense turned in a stellar effort, and
made the key plays when needed.
Middlesboro will host Harlan during next Friday’s Class A playoff first round matchup. The two teams played on Oct. 3 with the Yellow Jackets picking up a 58-0 decision.
