Lady Yellow Jackets pick up win No. 19

WILLIAMSBURG — The Williamsburg Lady Yellow Jackets made Senior Night one to remember, rolling past Clay County in straight sets, 25-19, 25-12, 25-14, on Monday evening.
With the win, Williamsburg improved to 19-13 on the season, while the Lady Tigers fell to 12-18.
The night was all about honoring seniors Karina and Kylee Nantz, two players who have been cornerstones of the program’s rise under coach Dirk Berta.
“Tonight was a total celebration of our two seniors — Karina and Kylee Nantz,” Berta said. “They both have meant so much to this program and have played a tremendous part in the success and growth of Williamsburg volleyball! Karina achieved 1,000 digs tonight in her career as a Williamsburg Jacket. She has been a great libero for us the previous two seasons and has set the bar high for anyone coming after her.”
Berta also praised Kylee’s all-around versatility and leadership on the court.
“Kylee is approaching 1,000 assists as a setter in a 6-2 offense,” he added. “She’s approaching 250 kills on the season and has set the bar high as a setter and hitter. They both don’t get enough credit for the jobs they perform on the court. Kylee and Karina are tremendous volleyball players and we, as a coaching staff and program, are thankful to have them with us. We are looking forward to the challenge at Leslie County tomorrow night! As always, Go Jackets.”
