WILLIAMSBURG — It was a historic night for Whitley County as the Colonels dominated Knox Central, 17-0, in one of the most lopsided wins in program history.
The 17 goals tied for the fifth-most ever scored in a single game by a Kentucky high school team.
Senior standout Rizzo Cima made history of his own, scoring the Colonels’ first four goals en route to a six-goal performance. He now has 42 goals this season, surpassing former Colonel Matt Sawyers’ mark of 36 to set the school’s new single-season scoring record.
Whitley County (9-7-1) spread the wealth offensively after Cima’s early barrage. Brody Moses added a hat trick, while Bryson Mahan tallied two goals. Levi Huddleston, Ean Collins, Logan Simpson, Noah Rector, Kadence Grubb, and Hydro Cunnagin each found the back of the net as well.
