WILLIAMSBURG — North Laurel continued its strong start to the season Friday night, cruising past Whitley County, 42-0, to capture its third consecutive road victory. The Jaguars improved to 4-1 while recording their third shutout of the year.
Quarterback Jude McWhorter set the tone early with a 36-yard touchdown run, sparking an offense that never slowed down. McWhorter finished the night with two rushing scores and two touchdown passes — connecting with Cam Anderson and Braxton Fultz through the air. On the ground, Cooper Robinson and Bryson Nantz each added rushing touchdowns to round out the scoring.
The Jaguars have now outscored their opponents 107-35 this season while building a three-game winning streak. They’ll look to extend it to four games next week against Collins.
“I’m very proud of the way we executed our game plan and all those big guys up front,” he said. “We really won the line of scrimmage and that made the offense and defense both play phenomenal. Again, we just have to keep getting better each week and staying healthy. These guys have done great coming in and improving every day and we need to continue to do so. I’m so excited for this group and what they can accomplish. Go Jags.”
