WILLIAMSBURG — Whitley County’s trip to the Rocky Top Classic was a successful one, going 4-1, improving to 13-3 on the season.
“Enjoyed getting to take our girls down to participate in the Rocky Top Classic and play teams from other states,” Whitley County coach David Halcomb said. “Our girls have been working very hard in practice and I think we are starting so show improvement is some key areas.
“We finished the weekend 4-1, made it to the gold bracket and left feeling very good about our performance overall. We came up short against Hebron Christian, but played at a high level and did some really good things against them. They are ranked eighth in the state of Georgia, and our girls didn’t back down and competed very well. We are getting better and that’s a good sign. Blessed to be able to coach such a great group of young ladies who always represent our school and community well.”
