North Laurel Wins Fourth Straight, Tops Richmond Model 4-1

RICHMOND — North Laurel’s boys’ soccer team extended its hot streak to a season-best four wins in a row after defeating Richmond Model, 4-1, on Saturday.

The Jaguars now stand at 5-4-1 on the season and are peaking with just a couple of weeks left in the regular season.

“I felt we started off the game a little slow, but we quickly got it together,” coach David Broyles said. “I thought we controlled the game for the most part and had several good looks at goal, but the wet grass kept us from getting a good strike on the ball. We finally broke through midway through the first half with Reilly Stuber assisting Jaxon Jacobs.

“We carried the 1-0 lead to half,” Broyles added. “We came out the second half and quickly scored three more goals to give us a 4-0 lead. We kept that till inside a minute to go when Model was able to sneak one past Edwards for a goal. This was a good game for us coming off a week long layoff to keep our momentum going. Our passing was better and we were able to get some of the younger guys some time on the pitch.”
