WILLIAMSBURG — Rockcastle County stormed out to a 20-0 lead in the first quarter and never looked back Friday night, handing Whitley County a 48-20 setback.
The Colonels (1-2) found bright spots behind the play of standout Dee Parker, who had a night to remember despite the loss. Parker broke loose for an 88-yard touchdown run, added a 12-yard scoring run, and even connected with Landen Rose on a 32-yard touchdown pass.
Whitley County trailed 20-6 at halftime and remained within striking distance until Rockcastle’s offense extended the gap in the third quarter. By the end of the frame, the Rockets led 42-13, putting the game out of reach.
The loss drops Whitley County to 1-2 on the season.
