WILLIAMSBURG — Just days after stunning Whitley County in the Kentucky 2A, Section 7 finals, the Corbin Lady Redhounds proved their momentum is no fluke.
On Thursday, they walked into the Lady Colonels’ gym and left with another statement victory — this time in a 50th District matchup, sweeping Whitley in straight sets, 25-15, 25-15, 25-23.
The Lady Redhounds improved to 10-3 overall, extending their win streak to seven matches while moving to 2-0 in district play. Whitley County dropped to 8-2 and 1-1 in district competition.
Corbin coach Krystal Jones praised her team’s composure and credited the home crowd atmosphere for making the win even more meaningful.
“Our girls really battled tonight in a tough environment,” she said. “So proud of the way our student section brought the energy, they were a huge part of this one. We’ll keep building and head to Adair County this weekend for a tough schedule. Go Hounds.”
The Lady Redhounds will now turn their attention to a challenging slate at Adair County this weekend as they look to keep their hot streak alive.
