WILLIAMSBURG — Whitley County bounced back in a big way Thursday, rolling to a 7-2 victory over Middlesboro.
The Colonels were led by Bryson Mahan, who turned in a stellar offensive performance with four goals. Brody Moses, Kadence Grubb, and Rowen Walters also found the back of the net while each added an assist. Additional assists came from Hydro Cunnagin, Levi Huddleston, and Larriuce Felipe.
The win pushes Whitley County to 5-3 on the season while the Yellow Jackets fall to 2-3.
“We needed a solid win to bounce back after a couple district losses,” Whitley coach Michael Branham said. “We were without a key players tonight due to sickness and injury. We possessed the ball much better tonight than we have been, all the guys stepped up in a big way, Bryson Mahan had a huge night with four goals and overall everyone played really well. Now we look forward to Johnson Central in the 2A state tournament Saturday.”
