LANCASTER — South Laurel’s struggles continued Thursday as the Lady Cardinals dropped a 9-1 decision to Garrard County.
The Lady Cardinals never got on track on both sides of the field resulting in them falling to 0-4.
South Laurel has been outscored, 24-3, so far this season.
“First half wasn’t our best,” South Laurel coach Jessica Perkins said. “The intensity wasn’t there and it showed making it difficult for us to maintain possession. Halftime talk seemed to wake them up and second half play was the team that I knew we were with much more intensity and teamwork that led to a goal scored by Trista Brown.
“We’re a young team, and every game, win or lose, is a learning experience,” she added. “I’m super proud of how hard these players are working and how much we’ve improved together. The setbacks are fueling our progress.”
