Lady Jaguars suffer first loss with 3-2 setback to Lincoln County 

STANFORD — North Laurel’s suffered its first setback of the season on Thursday, losing a 3-2 nail-biter to Lincoln County.  

Haley Combs scored a goal for North Laurel’s (1-1) while Lauren Crouch also scored a goal. Annabelle Welch finished with one assist. 

“Losses are always tough,” North Laurel coach Kayla Carson said. “But thankfully  they come with lessons. There were a lot of teaching opportunities tonight. We were able to adjust and make changes when needed and thats always a positive with a team. 

“We came out and were able to get two goals early. We just couldn’t hold on,” she added. “Lincoln is a physical team and it was good for us to see that kind of competition. We’ve got a tough week coming up with three more physical games. We’re going to have to regroup and be ready to fight.”
