Rizzo Cima ties program record with eight goals during Colonels’ 13-0 win

BARBOURVILLE — Just two games into the season, and Whitley County’s Rizzo Cima is dominating.

After scoring four goals in the Colonels’ season-opener, Rizzo added eight goals, tying a program record, to lead the Colonels past Barbourville, 13-0, on Thursday.

The Colonels (2-0) scored early and often, rolling to the easy win while Brody Moses finished with two goals and one assist, and Bryson Mahan had one goal, and three assists. Levi Huddleston and Rowen Walters both added one goal apiece while Logan Simpson, Ean Collins, Noah Rector, Trent Askins, and Larriuce Felipe each had one assist.

“Very pleased with the team effort today, everyone got in on the action,” Whitley County  coach Michael Branham said. “Rizzo Cima had a quick start and, I believe, tied our school record for goals in a single game. Our freshmen played well and got plenty of time playing varsity for the first time this season. We look forward to a tough match Saturday at home versus Russell to better prepare us for the 2A next week.”
