LONDON — North Laurel captured its first win of the season, improving to 1-0-1 after recording a 4-2 win over visiting George Rogers Clark on Thursday.
The Jaguars fell behind early, 1-0, before scoring four consecutive goals to take control of the match.
Malik Turner led the way with two goals while Gavin Martin, and Jaxon Jacobs also scored a goal apiece. Jordan McIntyre led the way with two assists while Turner finished with one assist.
“We came out tonight very aggressive on the ball and put the pressure on GRC from the start,” North Laurel coach David Broyles said. “We had a defensive error that allowed them to score first 10 minutes into the game. We were able to level the game when Jordan McIntyre assisted Gavin Martin off a corner. We took the lead a few minutes later when Malik Turner found Jaxon Jacobs with a nice through ball.
“We added two more goals in the second half with Malik Turner scoring an unassisted goal and Turner scoring again from a Jordan McIntyre pass,” he added. “We gave up a late goal to get the final of 4-2. I thought overall we played well, still had some mistakes, but we are coming together.”
