LONDON — South Laurel had hopes of starting the season with a win, but couldn’t stop the offensive attack of Pulaski County on Monday.
The Lady Maroons scored five goals en route to a 5-2 win over the Lady Cardinals.
“We didn’t get the result we wanted but I am proud of the effort the girls put in after having to sit out three of our girls for injuries,” South Laurel coach Jessie Perkins said. “Today’s play showed us where we need to grow and I’m confident in this team.”
Gracie Hoskins led South Laurel with two goals while Lanea French and Tristan Brown both finished with an assist apiece. The Lady Cardinals will be back in action Saturday at home against Russell County. The game is slated for a 1 p.m. start.
