LONDON — Corbin’s Danni Foley and Whitley County’s Caylee Singleton hooked up in an old-fashioned pitcher’s duel during Monday’s 50th District Softball Tournament semifinal action.
Both pitchers brought their A game to the table with the Lady Redhounds doing just enough to pull off a 2-1 win.
Singleton allowed four hits and one earned run while striking out two batters. Foley allowed only a hit and one earned run while striking out eight batters.
Corbin scored two runs in the fifth inning while the Lady Colonels (15-18) struck for one run in the top of the seventh.
Kaili Sanders delivered the big hit for the Lady Redhounds (13-13), finishing with a hit and two RBI. Lydia King had two hits while Anela Sanders had a hit.
Madilyn Rains drove in Whitley County’s lone run while Morgan Huddleston delivered the Lady Colonels’ only hit.
